| Joshua 6:1“Now Jericho was tightly shut up because of the Israelites. No one went out and no one came in.” Learning to see obstacles as opportunities takes prayer, patience and practice (Hebrews 5:14) that requires strength, courage and obedience. (Joshua 1:6, 7, 8, 9, 17b; 8:1)
Here are 5 Passage Ways to help you turn obstacles into opportunities, your blockage into blessings:
God is laboring for us. As barriers remain fixed and we see no way out, God is orchestrating people, places, events and finances to move His plan forward. He works silently, invisibly and effectively on our behalf, if we let him. (Proverbs 19:21, Romans 8:28)
God goes before us.
Knowing the beginning from the end, God has already decided in his mind which hindrances to remove and which to leave unaltered. For the obstacles that remain, the Lord will arrange a way around them or fit them into His plan. What He has determined will be accomplished. (Genesis 50:19, Jeremiah 29:11)
God requires obedience. Stated another way he must have our cooperation. Why? To be ready and able to face difficult situations, though His word, he
communicates what we need to know also equips us. (Hebrews 13:20-21)
God is personally involved. He wants to develop a greater sensitivity within us of his ongoing presence in our lives. Through obedience, we can receive the assurance that He is near. (Joshua 1:6-9)
God gives clear instruction.
He does not bring confusion. (1 Corinthians 14:33) Whether we receive his direction in stages or all at once, he asks us to trust His way of thinking and doing rather than our own. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Facing challenges involves courage, patience and faith. It takes courage to accept the presence of barriers, to move in tempo with God, and do what he asks, patience as we wait for Him to equip us and reveal his plan and faith to trust Him with the outcome.
Joshua 1:5 “No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Judges 6:12 “When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, The Lord is with you mighty warrior.”
1 Samuel 17:37 “The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine, Saul said to David, ‘Go and the Lord be with you.”
1 Chronicles 22:11 “Now, my son, the Lord be with you, and may you have success and build the house of the Lord your God, as he said you would.”
Live your life aware of God with you and the obvious effects of his transforming presence and always celebrate your victories!
