10 Keys to a Mental Makeover

Get to know the real you, identify your strengths and weaknesses and learn to accept what you can and cannot change about yourself.  Accept Yourself

Make sure the goals that you have set for yourself belong to you and no one else. Don’t set goals to please others or copy the goals of others.  Set your own Goals

Set aside 5-10 minutes each day to help you de-stress. Turn off your phone, TV and computer, sit quietly, with eyes closed, breathe slowly and deeply while clearing your mind of the days events. Manage Stress

Whether you are learning a new routine in your jazz class, taking a watercolor class or doing a find-a-word puzzle, learning can help keep your mind fit and help prevent memory loss.  Continue to Learn

When a problem arises, don’t’ dwell on what went wrong.  See it as an opportunity for growth. Focus on what you are going to do about it. Spend your energy on moving forward.  Think Positive

Many times people are quick to compliment others, but they rarely compliment themselves and accept compliments from others.  Learn to say Thank You

Sleep affects the part of the brain that control thinking, decision making and impulsivity. The recommended amount of nightly ZZZ’s is 7-9 hours.  Get Sufficient Sleep

Hang out with inspiration by reading success stories to keep you motivated and encouraged.  If they can do it, so can you!  Seek Success
