Late Night Snacks Are late night snack s really that bad for your waistline?
Actually NO! The time of meals and snacks is not as important as what you eat and how much. Long-term weight maintenance still depends on the total number of calories you take in and burn each day. The tendency to overindulge is the real issue and problem:
When you raid the fridge during The Tonight Show you are
more likely to eat fatty, high salt, processed foods that cause weight gain. Reduce late night cravings by nibbling on grapes, almonds and other healthy snacks throughout the day.
If you do snack after dinner, reach for low calorie food such as Special K or Cheerios with organic skim milk, low fat cottage cheese, low fat yogurt with a sprinkle of Tupelo honey, baby carrots or an apple. My favorite snack is hot-air popped popcorn (please use sea salt for flavor).
