Opt for Olive Oil

The next time you are out for dinner, ask your server to serve the bread with olive oil, not butter. You will get heart healthy fats and eat less, according to a study from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champagne. Researchers gave restaurant goers olive oil or butter with their bread and watched them. While diners sopped up more oil per slice of bread, they ate fewer pieces and 220 less calories. Why? It may be that olive oil has a strong flavor, and we feel satisfied faster than butter,” says Mr Wansink, a food psychologist.

To keep the experience healthy, please do not sprinkle salt in the oil and request non-white breadbasket.
